What to expect on a centre tour

A centre tour is the perfect way to experience your centre of choice, seeing a world where children are inspired to explore, learn and grow. We often have parents tell us that “the vibe” is the most important factor for them when choosing a centre. Upon walking into our centre, you may immediately know that it’s the perfect fit for your family; we encourage you to follow your gut instinct on this, asking us any questions you have along the way. We strive to offer a memorable and authentic tour, tailored to each family. If you would like to book a tour at our centre, call us on 02 9838 0380 today!

Child Care Subsidy (CCS)

Making early learning more affordable.

What is the Child Care Subsidy (CCS)?

he Child Care Subsidy (CCS) makes early childhood learning more affordable for many Australian families. The below guide should help you help break down how the benefit works for you and your family.

Eligibility for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) depends on a number of factors, including;

  1. How much "work related activity" you and your partner undertake each fortnight. The entitlement is based on the person who does the lower amount of activity.
  2. Your combined family income. The higher the income, the less subsidy you are entitled to generally.
  3. The type of early childhood education or child care undertaken.

For more in depth information, on the rules and regulations around the administration of the CCS please visit the Services Australia website.

AT First Sight

We enrol a family at Little Explorers not just the child. This belief ensures that family feel connected and valued during their enrolment at Little Explorers.

Our foundation for a child’s time at Little Explorers Ermington is the development of strong relationships with each child and their family. Respectful and collaborative relationships provide children with a sense of belonging, which supports their learning journey in early childhood.

We provide a preschool program for children aged 3-5 years and a school readiness program for children aged 4-5 years.

Our rooms are designed based on children’s ages and their stage of development. This ensures that your child will have the opportunity to learn and grow across all areas during their time at our centre.

We are open
Monday to Friday
7:00 am to 6:00 pm
52 weeks of the year.

Centre will be closed on the NSW public holidays.

What our parents think

Nisha Maharjan

Friendly and homely environment. Children are happy to be in care and staffs are helpful.

R K

great service, very friendly and all around would recommend to any parent

Erin Aye

My two children have been attending this childcare centre for nearly a year now and I am very happy with their service. My kids have settled in well and are always excited to go. We decided to put our children in daycare to assist in our two year old's language development and to assist in improving our one year old's separation anxiety, and both have made a significant improvement in such a short time. They update their app regularly to keep you informed of the learning activities they implement with the children and always keep me updated with any issues. The director is lovely and staff members are friendly and helpful.

Ge Eva

All the staff nice and friendly.

Working together is how the best learning happens, and we're here for your child and you.

Little Explorers is family owned and developed, well known for its quality of education and care and also the quality of its educators who provide an entirely family-oriented approach to early education and care. We act as an extension of home and provide an environment where children feel loved, accepted and secure.

PRESCHOOL CARE

(3-5 YEARS)

Our preschool program in Ermington supports children aged 3–5 years to develop independence, confidence and a positive approach to learning in a safe and engaging environment.

Through play-based learning, children build important skills in communication, problem-solving, social interaction and self-help, preparing them for a successful transition to school.

Transition to School Program

  • We support children and families through the transition to school with a structured and gradual approach. Our educators build children’s confidence by encouraging independence, promoting positive attitudes towards school, and providing opportunities for discussion and reassurance.
  • School readiness is embedded in everyday learning through practical experiences such as lunchbox routines, group learning, responsibility tasks, and independence skills, rather than through a short-term program.
Supporting Families
  • We work closely with families to support each child’s transition to school. Our service offers school-readiness information sessions and guidance on supporting your child’s development at home.
  • Educators prepare the NSW Transition to School Statement in partnership with families, providing valuable information to your child’s future school to support a confident start.
Celebrating Milestones
  • We celebrate children’s achievements through a graduation event at the end of the year, recognising their growth and marking this important transition in their learning journey.
  • As children reach three years of age and begin to come into their own, it is important that they have time and space to explore their independence in a safe and supportive environment. We support the development of autonomy and a positive attitude towards learning.
