Our preschool program in Ermington supports children aged 3–5 years to develop independence, confidence and a positive approach to learning in a safe and engaging environment.

Through play-based learning, children build important skills in communication, problem-solving, social interaction and self-help, preparing them for a successful transition to school.

Transition to School Program

• We support children and families through the transition to school with a structured and gradual approach. Our educators build children’s confidence by encouraging independence, promoting positive attitudes towards school, and providing opportunities for discussion and reassurance.
• School readiness is embedded in everyday learning through practical experiences such as lunchbox routines, group learning, responsibility tasks, and independence skills, rather than through a short-term program.

• We work closely with families to support each child’s transition to school. Our service offers school-readiness information sessions and guidance on supporting your child’s development at home.
• Educators prepare the NSW Transition to School Statement in partnership with families, providing valuable information to your child’s future school to support a confident start.

• We celebrate children’s achievements through a graduation event at the end of the year, recognising their growth and marking this important transition in their learning journey.
• As children reach three years of age and begin to come into their own, it is important that they have time and space to explore their independence in a safe and supportive environment. We support the development of autonomy and a positive attitude towards learning.
